January 2009 coming to a close...

For all of you that subscribe to my blog you know that I am not a frequent poster. The main reason for that was we packed up most of my paper craft items so that we could put our house on the market. That did not turn out quite as we had planned. Our house was on the market for 1 year without a single offer. I was very sad that the house did not sell but I keep trying to be positive. We have tossed around putting it back on the market since but wanted to wait until after the holidays. So the holidays are over and the market is worse now than it was then so we are waiting. In the mean time, I have lived without my paper craft supplies long enough. As soon as we have a day that is warm enough, my husband can go get them and bring them home, I will be sending him out the door (*wink*) as fast as possible. Until then, hang in there with me.

While I'm posting, I thought I would share the cake I threw together at the last minute for my hubby. I have fibromyalgia and have not been feeling very well and did not feel like baking him a real cake and he didn't want me to buy one. I thought he needed something with candles on it anyway; this is what I came up with. He loves mini snickers so I decided I would somehow make him a cake using them. Once I put a plan together in my head I thought it would be quick and easy. It turned out to be a little tougher and it took longer than I thought it would. When I first tried to make a hole in the snicker for the candle, the snicker crushed. Wasn't quite the look I was going for??? So I went and found a small round kitchen utensil and heated it up with hot water, dried it off, stuck it into the snicker. Success! Then I warmed the bottom of each snicker and put them in place on the plate, voila. Happy Birthday Honey!

I finally CRACKED!!!

I could not take it any longer. I had to have some of my stuff back. I just really need to feel like me again. I only have 1 more week of school left for the semester and it was starting to sink in, when school is over I won't have anything to occupy my time. So, I decided that it was time to unpack just enough stuff to keep me occupied. You can't even imagine how fun it was. It didn't even matter to me that I didn't have a lot of my stuff I was back in my element. Whoo hooo!!!

I started working on a chocolate lovers gift pack, I will have to show it to you when I finish it. It's still a work in progress. In the mean time I found out that one of the girls I work with grandfather passed away. Now that I have some stuff I wanted to make a card for her so here it is. What do you think?

This card is lots of layers of many coordinating pieces of paper. Super simple and fun. Here is the card ingredient: Cardstock: Bazzill, Pattern paper: K & Company, Stamp: DRS Designs, Accents: paper clip: K & Company, brads & jumbo eyelets: Stampin' Up!, ribbon: various.

Sweet Baby Girl!

Happy Easter Everyone!

It's a good thing I made some projects that I hadn't ever posted. That way I have stuff to post now, while I'm waiting for our house to sell. When I did this project a year ago, wow time flies *wink*, it was the first time I had ever tried adhering rub-ons to glass. If you haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for??? It's super easy. I love making baby stuff and this was sooooooooooo much fun. I used Brenda Walton's Small Wonders set for the entire project.

I'm Going Crazy!!!

It is so cold here and there is so much snow on the ground we can't even see our mailbox anymore. I'll try to remember to take a picture of it so I can show you. Anyway, I miss stamping so I'm a little whinny *sad face*!

So here I am posting old stuff and remembering how much fun it was to be doing paper crafts. Unfortunately I can't remember all the details for the ingredients but the ice cream is pink stickles *smile*. The paper is bazzill and my minds eye, wild asparagus, the sweet stamp was one of the dollar stamps from Michael's. I used hot off the press pink suede and the window punch for the 3 strips. If you have questions just let me know and I'll try to figure out where the rest of came from.

If you know any tricks for selling your house quick I'm all ears.

Happy Valentines!

Well if you haven't noticed, your mailbox isn't overflowing with a lot of posts from me I'm not what you would call a frequent poster. I would like to post a little more often but there seems to be a lot of other things getting in the way.

Reasons for not posting. Number 1, I packed up my stamp stuff and started staging our house to put it up for sale, last June. We did a ton of things to the house because the competition is so fierce here. New hot water heater, new furnace, new carpet in our basement, new light fixtures, new windows, new stainless steel appliances, new paint on the walls and then we staged everything. All of this was keeping me busy so it didn't bother me to much that I wasn't able to stamp. We finally listed our house in October hoping it would sell quickly. It still has not sold; the market here in WI is awful. There are about 100 other houses in the same price range Not Sure Soon after it was listed, the holidays were upon us and I was busy with all the stuff that goes along with it. Number 2, I decided to go back to school. I signed up for 6 credit hours of class this semester and it is really kicking my butt *wink* I don't think it would be as bad if work wasn't so draining. It has been very stressful and demanding. I leave there and go to class 2 nights a week for 3 hours, yuck! My weekends are spent doing home work, no time for fun then either. I keep telling my self it will all be worth it in the end. Number 3, my family, with so little time leftover I do what I can to spend some time with them. Cross your fingers for us to sell the house soon so I can move into a new stamp room. If it doesn't happen soon I may go crazy *double wink*

Ok, now that you know why I haven't been posting we can get on with my post for today. I made this card for my husband last Valentines day and although it a year old I still like it. Ingredients used: Cardstock, Bazzill red and black; Pattern paper, FoofaLa red, black and cream; Hero Arts, gemstone crystals; Ribbon, black velvet; Stamps, noteworthy (love), $1 stamps (xoxo); Other, chipboard, dimensionals, corner punch. Super easy card to do and my husband loved it.
Hope you have a Happy Valentines!!! Chocolate Valentine
